My maths buddy and I solved the following question:
2. 1/2 of a swimming lesson was spent on freestyle. If the lesson was 30 minutes long, how many minutes were spent on freestyle?
 we got the answer: 15

Water safety

On Wednesday  my group did the boat safety for swimming. here are the people in my group: Anya, Charlotte, Annebelle, Zoe G, Zoe H, Aria, Luke, Henry, Heath, Ethan, Kenny and Blake. Heath did a pencil jump into the water first and climbed up into the boat then Kenny then Blake then Henry then Charlotte then Anya then me then Ethan then Zoe G then Annebelle then Luke then Aria then Zoe H after we were all on we fell off backwards in to the water  then we went under the boat. After that we did a huddle. then it was finished. here are some photos of our swimming.

Interchange

Today we are making balloon powered cars. We all were in groups. The people in my group were Anya and Evie. To make the balloon powered car we needed to find some cool materials. We found a milk bottle and some cardboard. We thought about what we could do with them and then we decided that we could make a car out of it. We got some straws , cliko and skewers. Visual Maths

During week 2, Room 15 and 16 learnt about graphs. With our math mate, we created our own graph. Poppy , Zoe g , Peter and I created our graph about treats . 

We were able to look and compare our graph to our peers. It was interesting to do maths without using numbers - instead, it was all visual! 

Maths Talk at Hoon Hay School

At our school we work with a maths mate and share our thinking with them. We ask questions about our maths and if we aren't sure of something, we explain how we do it. We know that 2 brains are often better than one and we enjoy working collaboratively. 

Today Mya and I worked on solving this problem: 

1. Kyla, Mya and Grace went to the movies. Their tickets cost $14.60 each. How much did their tickets cost altogether?

Our answer was $33.80
